The BEST Caterer ever!

Thanks so much to Carrie from "My Mamma Kitchen". We love our anniversary cake! Just look at it. It was moist, and tender, and perfect! When you need an excellent caterer for your special event, contact Carrie at: http://mymammakitchen.com

A great group of people

These guys are the greatest. We are so thankful and very blessed to have celebrated our 7th year anniversary with them. Thanks again for coming out with us.

More than cactus

While the botanical gardens of Catalina hosts a plethora of cactus, there are also splashes of vibrantly colored flowers. So you know who you are, here is proof that there is more than cactus there.

But WAIT!!!

My husband took this shot of us. It took about 30 minutes, 10 retakes, and some creative compositing to complete :) Yes even photographers have a difficult time with self portraits, but with a ton of patience...

100 Steps and the Steps we took

When we arrived at Catalina's Botanical Gardens, we were told of two sets of stairs at the Wrigley Memorial Building. The hundred steps that Everyone took, and the hidden steps to the left. I don't know why she shared this information with us, but I'm VERY glad she did. Maybe it was because she saw in us the passion, the commitment, and the desire to take the road less traveled... or maybe, she thought we wouldn't make it to the top if we took the 100 Steps!

You too can have your very own custom made brass door!

Of all the photos taken of me, this is my current favorite. My husband actually captures my personality in this image. I confess, I'm a pretty nutty person, and I love to have fun, and I enjoyed my stint as a door model!

Don't you feel welcome? hahaha

The Old Lady in the Tree

Picture this... Catalina Island... 2008...
This image was made at the botanical gardens and conservatory. While nature photography is more my husband's thing (I'm a people person), I just had to make this shot. This Southern African native, seemed to have a personality and style of 'her' own, and was begging to be photographed. I love it!

My most favorite person in the world.

You know that commercial where the dog keeps saying "look a ..." well my husband was so fascinated with the ocean and sea gulls on our vacation, that... "look a wave..." Hahaha. This photo was taken during a moment when he was contemplating creation, and our Awesome Creator. I just love this shot.
